Review excerpts

'The most wanted Croatian film on the 8th ZagrebDox.“ Milena Zajović, Večernji list

‘Bezinović is much less interested in media reactions than in entering the university halls and lecture rooms, spaces of (relative) privacy. At the same time he is skillfully rendering the atmosphere of excitement charged by revolutionary potential, as well as the intimate atmosphere of waning enthusiasm.’
Damir Radić, Novosti

'Outstandingly dynamic and atmospheric film. Superb piece of art and full-blooded documentary work.'
Damir Radić, Novosti

'I find it totally exciting. Something between ’’Pretty Woman’’ and a good thriller.’
Hrvoslav's aunt

‘This valuable document of the socially relevant event renders the theme in a dynamic way by switching between quiet and loud, peaceful and turbulent, orderly and chaotic, in terms of the editing rhythm, as well as in terms of action before the camera.’
Janko Heidl, Forum

Review excerpts

‘Strikingly dynamic depiction of the events. The ultimate orgasm on the editing table.’
Dragan Rubeša, Novi list

‘The theme of this excellent, dramatic and dynamic film, which easily holds the viewer's attention for the entire 90 minutes, can still be applied to today's situation, and will stay so until the goal is reached. Skillful editing gave the film its remarkable rhythm of the depicted situations.'
Marijana Jakovljević, Glas Koncila

‘This dramaturgically consistent film offers so far the best presentation of escalation and waning of the happening which has at its peak mobilized the students from the whole country.’
Milena  Zajović, Kultura

‘Bezinović's film is a very interesting, bitterly humorous presentation of one social moment.’
Milena Zajović, Kultura

‘Immediate, intimate approach to the events followed by a discrete humor.’
Josip Grozdanić, Vijenac

Review excerpts

‘Bezinović is a director of faces and bodies. He is listening, spying and observing slogans, and recording the details. The events follow chronologically. His camera is totally unobtrusive and the protagonists don't have time to notice its presence.’
Dragan Rubeša, Novi list

‘The Blockade is a splendid documentary which surely has a future on film festivals and in cinemas. The story it depicts will not be concluded soon.’
Vedran Jerbić,  Vijesnik

‘From a rich material Bezinović chooses remarkable and thoughtfully conceived elements and integrates them into a compact whole which seems light and easy, even though the material is heavy and serious.  The Blockade is a film which spreads the consciousness that action is possible, that struggle hasn't finished, and that there is still hope. A will for a change is visible throughout the film, which doesn't end in atmosphere of defeat, but in the spirit of spite and hope.’ Nikola Strašek, filmovi.hr
